
Property taxes are collected by the state and distributed based on student population and need. Unlike state property taxes, every dollar from the Riverdale local option levy stays right here in our district and is dedicated to maintaining the high-quality education our community expects.

Because state funding alone does not fully cover the actual cost of educating each student, the levy helps fills the gap between what the state provides and what it truly takes to run strong schools. Without this local investment, reductions to staffing, programs, or student supports would be necessary.
In short: levy funds don’t create extras they protect essentials. They ensure Riverdale schools can continue delivering the personalized, high-quality education that benefits students, families, and the entire neighborhood.
